Dr. Xiaofeng (Jasmine) Yan

Interventional Psychiatrist

I am a board-eligible psychiatrist with a passion for delivering compassionate, evidence-based care. My approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and holistic, recognizing the complex interplay between mind, body, and environment in shaping mental health.

I earned my MD and PhD and completed my residency in dermatology in China, where I was honored as an Outstanding Graduate and received recognition for an Excellent Postgraduate Dissertation. I subsequently served as an attending physician in dermatology before immigrating to the United States. In Houston, TX, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow and later as a lab manager, contributing to medical research.

In 2021, I transitioned to psychiatry and began residency training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, later transferring to UC Davis to deepen my interest in psychodermatology. With a dual background in dermatology and psychiatry, I bring a unique perspective to understanding the physical and emotional dimensions of well-being. My clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, trauma, psychodermatology, and the mind-body connection.

I strive to build a safe, respectful, and long-term therapeutic relationship where patients feel truly heard and empowered. Together, we will explore personalized treatment options - including psychotherapy, lifestyle modifications, and medication as appropriate - always tailored to your individual goals and needs.

Outside of clinical practice, I remain actively involved in research and medical writing and am committed to ongoing learning to stay at the forefront of advancements in psychiatry.
